When logging activity attendance, adding a passive or active check box to collect data on instead of using the star system.

What is the challenge or problem or you are trying to solve?

The star system of logging activities is very subjective and leaves a lot of room for variation with multiple staff reporting attendance. This then effects resident data reports. Also, family members have concerns regarding what it means if their loved one only has a certain number of stars on their report, despite some of their personal physical/cognitive limitations.

What is the impact?

Adding the option of doing a check box for active versus passive participation would be a much clearer way to report participation.

They star system is too subjective when trying to track and monitor resident participation/engagement trends, especially when working across different levels of care.

Yes- this would be a great improvement both in efficiency and clinically

Agreed-- as there are no definitions w/the star system and we are tasked w/working w/people of varying abilities--one person's 5 stars is another person's 3 stars, etc...hopefully you get the point.
