Better Quality Eclipse Images

The quality of the button images on Eclipse Group systems is sub-par. Does anyone know why they seem to get scaled down and have the quality reduced through the portal? They all are 3:2 ratio but we can load an image that is super sharp and one that is absolute garbage and they all end up looking the same as soon as they are on the system.
I'm assuming the original intent was to decrease the size of file to make it easy on users with low internet speed, but at this juncture the low quality is making our products look inferior.
